“The Jester” is a 30 minute comedy pilot written and directed by Alex Jenny. She is also the star of the series, but that is just because she is sleeping with the director. “The Jester” is loosely based on Alex’s life as a 22 year old stand up comedian and film student. Alex has observed in this very male dominated world, that there is a certain sense of idiocy, embarrassment, and bravery that is needed to try to achieve this as a career. She noticed that there are few stories about that world, specifically in the perspective of a young female gen z — she wanted to fill that gap. “The Jester” is currently in post production and is anticipated to be shopped around and released in 2027.
